Stories from the Birth Room and Beyond…
Danielle:
Marie-Jasmine made my whole pregnancy, labour & delivery, and post partum period such a calm and wonderful experience. Having her guide myself and my partner through courses of what to expect and know going into everything has helped ease our minds so much.
I couldn’t imagine not having her at the hospital during the labour and delivery. She was with me and guided me through every moment, from my water breaking until the baby’s first latch. She coached me through every contraction and every push and made me feel completely safe and supported. Labour can feel so scary and there’s so many unknowns, but Marie-Jasmine was incredible with explaining every process and allowing me to make knowledge based decisions on my own. She worked so well with the staff at the hospital and made such an amazing team. The whole experience was truly incredible and I cannot be more grateful to have had her help.
Samantha:
Labour was the most intense and scary, yet also the most beautiful moment of my life. Every step of the way, you were there for me whether it be for simple questions, or grounding me from a moment of panic you always knew what to say. In the months, weeks, and moments before my son’s birth, you anticipated my needs before I even voiced them, making me feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. From the start you were the steady, sister-like presence I didn’t know I needed. That comfort carried me through every stage of this journey. You supported not just me, but my partner as well, and your loving, sweet energy will forever be a part of our story. We are endlessly grateful for you.
Jocelyn:
At 33 weeks and 1 day pregnant, my water broke unexpectedly. My husband and I rushed to the hospital, hoping it was somehow a false alarm. The first face to greet us was Registered Nurse, Marie-Jasmine. She was warm, calm, and welcoming, exactly what I needed in that moment.
She immediately guided me through the initial steps, confirming that my water had indeed broken and that I would be delivering my baby that day. I was overwhelmed, panicked, underprepared, and terrified for my baby. This was not how I imagined welcoming our first child into the world, and I didn’t even have my hospital bag packed.
Marie-Jasmine looked me in the eyes and assured me she would be by my side every step of the way. As she began registering me as a patient, I suddenly felt intense pain and called her back into the room. I was quickly assessed and told I was already 10 centimeters dilated, our baby was coming right now. I remember grabbing Marie-Jasmine’s hand and needing her next to me and my husband.
All the information from my prenatal classes vanished in that moment. I was in shock, but Marie-Jasmine stayed steady. She coached me through every single second of labor and delivery, never once letting go of my hand.
After an intense and quick labour, our perfect baby girl arrived and was taken to the NICU for testing. Marie-Jasmine continued to care for me with such compassion, making sure I stayed informed about what was happening with our daughter down the hall.
Because our baby was born prematurely, we spent nearly a month in the hospital. During that time, Marie-Jasmine often checked in on us. Her support didn’t end with the delivery, it extended through some of our most vulnerable and difficult days.
Marie-Jasmine brought us warmth and comfort in one of the scariest moments of our lives. Her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care was exactly what we needed - and more than we ever expected. She will forever be a key part of our birth story.
Laura:
I am so grateful for the guidance Marie gave me not only post partum, but throughout the entire journey and beyond.
She made me feel at ease in prenatal classes and helped quell all my nerves and fears. Marie was especially there for me during (many!) challenging post partum moments. I felt like I could tell her anything, and she knew exactly what to tell me to make me feel better without any judgment. She knew exactly what I needed at any given moment. Her care, kindness and expertise is something I deeply needed and appreciated! Marie, you were such a pivotal and important part of my preparation and recovery, and both your knowledge and intuition is something I will never forget, and forever be grateful for
Marie-Jasmine:
A heartfelt thank you ! To my friends and family, thank you for cheering me on through every season: late-night studying, long L&D shifts, and the leap into entrepreneurship. Your belief in me has been my anchor.
To the clients and families I’ve had the privilege to serve, thank you for your trust, your openness, and your strength. You have shaped the doula and nurse I am. Serving you is not just my work; it is my calling.
With all my love and gratitude,
