Hi, I’m Marie-Jasmine
Your Private Doula
Origin: From RN to Doula
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been captivated by the miracle of birth, the way life arrives, how families grow, and the sacred transformation it brings. That fascination led me straight into nursing school, where during my very first labor & delivery rotation, I knew I’d found my calling.
As a L&D nurse working marathon 12-hour nights and weekends, I saw both the beauty of new life and the all-too-real gaps in care, and the burnout it caused. Colleagues, friends, and even the families in my care began to encourage me: “You have a gift for holding space and guiding mothers through labor. You should share it as a private doula.” Their words planted a seed that grew into Moments by MJR.
Journey: Lessons from Every Birth
No two births are alike, each one writes its own story. I’ve learned that true strength isn’t about rigid control but about finding power in surrender. When mind, body, and soul align, I’ve seen women step through fear into fierce confidence.
Too often, our medical system focuses solely on the physical milestones, leaving mothers unprepared for the emotional and spiritual journey. That’s where I come in. I blend my clinical expertise with compassionate, heart-centered support, walking alongside each family, filling in the gaps, restoring trust, and celebrating every triumph. Watching someone move from doubt to empowerment, buoyed by my steady presence, remains the greatest reward of all.
Vision: Why Moments by MJR
At Moments by MJR, I’m creating a new standard of care, one where high-end, personalized doula support meets the practical know-how of a seasoned RN. I treat each client like a sister: warm, attentive, and unwaveringly present, even amid life’s busiest seasons.
My hybrid approach weaves medical insight, breathwork, visualization, and nurturing touch into a seamless tapestry of support. Whether you’re drawing up your birth plan, learning to trust your body, or navigating those first postpartum days, you’ll never feel alone. My mission is simple: to help you feel seen, heard, and confident at every moment, so that when your baby arrives, you know you’ve been cared for as deeply as you’ll care for them.
