Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does a doula do?
A doula offers continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after birth, providing comfort measures, client advocacy, and partner coaching so you feel confident and cared for every step of the way.

  2. When should I book a doula?
I recommend reserving your spot between 16 – 20 weeks of pregnancy to ensure availability. If you’re further along, please reach out and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

  3. How do you involve my partner?
Your partner is an essential member of the birth team. I’ll mentor them in hands-on techniques: positioning, massage, and acupressure, so you both feel empowered to work together throughout labor.

  4. Which areas do you serve?
I serve Greater Montréal, including Laval, the West Island, Vaudreuil-Dorion, and Valleyfield. Virtual prenatal and postpartum consultations are available anywhere via Teams or phone.

  5. Do you support hospital, birthing center, and home births?
Yes, I support births in hospitals and birthing centers. With my extensive L&D nursing background, I’m most comfortable advocating for you within the hospital system. I do not attend home births, as those fall under the care and responsibility of licensed midwives and physicians.

  6. What are your fees and payment options?
Packages range from $2,500 to $3,500 (before taxes) and can be paid in multiple installments. You can pay by Interac e-transfer or by credit card via QuickBooks. Flexible payment plans are available, please contact me for more details.

  7. What is your cancellation policy?
A 10 % deposit is required to reserve your spot; this is non-refundable due to limited client capacity. Upon booking, we’ll sign a Service Agreement and Consent Form. Full cancellation terms are outlined in that agreement.

  8. Can I submit my doula fees for insurance reimbursement?
Some extended-health plans include doula services. I can provide detailed invoices and service descriptions to support your claim, please verify coverage with your provider.

  9. Do you offer virtual support?
Yes, virtual prenatal courses, maternity consultations, and postpartum check-ins are all available via Zoom or phone.
